We have taken note of the recent article by Universitetsavisa , in which officers from the PST warned Norwegian researchers against their Chinese colleagues for their possible “assistance” to the Chinese government.
We’re both surprised and confused by their irresponsible and baseless accusation. We’re not aware of so-called “new law” mentioned by them.
The Chinese government always reminds our citizens overseas to abide by local laws and regulations, as well as encourages the frequent and free exchanges of the academic circles between China and Norway.
We hope that PST would play a positive role in the development of China-Norway relations and China-Norway academic exchanges, not the other way around.
